OK guys, help me out ... I'm tattooing a friend. On his back is this big outlined dragon, all he wants me to do is color it in, all I have are 5 rounds, 11 mag and 14 round, I'm thinking of using 14 round, cause 5 round is too small, and I'm not experienced at all with mags. When is a good time to use mags anyway? But my main question is; Is 14 round ok to use on his back, it's his whole top half, from one shoulder blade to the other. I am using the computer at a library, so it would be incredible helpful to EMAIL (graysketch15@aol.com) any responses I get to this post. I can check my email through my phone, THANK YOU SO MUCH, I GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!! GOD BLESS!-GRAYSKETCH15@AOL.COM

i'd use a 7 mag or, a 9 mag. a 9 mag is as big as i'd go because, it's what i know?
well. maybe i'd use an 11 mag but thean again i don't use them alot. i've used an 11 only once or, twice.

I did a back piece not too long ago, and did most of the color with a 15 mag. Worked great, and cut the time down considerably. I would use even larger groups if it weren't for the fact that you have to get those split tubes like the ones Blitz makes. Plus for large grey washs, the larger mags seems to create smooth transitions. On a daily basis though I use mostly 5, 7, and 13's; with 7's being the most used. The only round shader I ever use anymore is an 8, and that's for smaller kanja type stuff and fatty line work.

i run an 11 mag thats curved to avoid chewing up the skin. I would use a larger needle if i had a tube for it. i know you can get that stuff but i'm not in demand for the larger peices right now
