I apolgise fo the relatively long thread, but I dont know what to do.
I recently had my fore arms tattooed in a otto font which is like a new aged old english. Its outline with shading done. He was working on it with my arm upside down. Everything looked great, untill later that night when I was checking it over and realized he put an E where An I was supposed to be. I obvioully had a discussion with his soon after got my money back and was offered a new tattoo of my choice. Which was not what I wanted, I want the right spelling on my forearm. I realize I should of noticed and stopped him, so I dont put all the blame on him. Any way I talked to another artist somewhere else, who supposeldly has delt with somthing like this before. He said I could maybe be able to fix it. He said to not put lotion or anything on it, let is scab up and pick at it trying to get as much ink out as possible. Atleast mos of the shading. Then once its healed he might be able to Change it into an I, or atleast closer to an I then a freaken E. Its been three days since I got it and Im kind of skeptical about picking the color out cause of scarring and such. It does make sense to me and prob would lighten it up making it easier to fix. DO any of you have any advice. IF I keep the picking clean and sterile, will that help lighten it up so it can be salvaged. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

do NOT pick it, let it heal up and consider having some laser treatment, it shouldnt cost much at all to put that right, ive heard of things like this happening loads of times but definitely dont pick it and dont go back to the bloke who told you to do that in the first place.
