Hello. I turned 18 yesterday and my girlfriend and I got out first tattoos. They both look great. I got a cross on upper right arm and it seems to be doing excellent, but she got a small heart along her pant line and it is getting flaky and scaby. We have been putting non-fragranced lotion on it every 2-3 hours or so but it just dosnt seem to be getting better. What can she do to help? Anything she can do to keep her clothes from rubbing it? Thanks in advance for the help

Yes, first you should be using something different than just a non fragerance lotion. I recommend Aquaphor made by Eucerin and this should be applied in small bits and then let to penetrate for 15 minutes then patted dry, this should be followed by a non fragerance lotion such as a general lotion I prefer Eucerin. With using both Eucerin products a tattoo can heal as quickly as four days. This can also reverse damage that is brought fourth by scabbing. In general you need more than just a general lotion for your new body art. Also keep in mind that this is an area that often sweats and probly needs to be washed 4-6 times a day, when washing never use a wash cloth or abrasive surface always wash with fingertips only and then when healed you can use the palm of your hand. As to keep clothing off, I would try using a large non stick gauze pad, but you will need to poke come holes in it as a tattoo is the equivolent of an abrasion and needs to be exposed to air and breathe. A normal tattoo should only peel like a sunburn and if you want to keep that color looking good, moisturize with the eucerin lotion and use a sunscreen with at least spf 30 when going in the sun. Sorry for the long post but this is ultimate tattoo care on 101. Cheers and Good luck Billy
